Haeffner Wealth Advisors Honored with 2025 Historic Preservation Curb Appeal Award

Washington, MO — Haeffner Wealth Advisors has been awarded the 2025 Historic Preservation Curb Appeal Award, recognizing their outstanding efforts in preserving and enhancing one of Washington’s historic properties.

The firm’s office, originally built in the 1850s, was purchased and remodeled by Joy and Cindy Haeffner in 1993. In 2024, their son Matt Haeffner, President of Haeffner Wealth Advisors, led a major renovation while preserving its historic character.

Upgrades included a new standing seam roof, tuck-pointing, black aggregate sidewalks, and a refreshed landscape design with new trees, sod, and plantings. Other improvements featured a new front porch, back deck, metal railings, widened entrance, asphalt parking lot, black fencing, and updated signage. Architectural details were carefully restored or replaced, with new windows, painted trim, and custom brickwork to match the original structure.

The Historic Preservation Curb Appeal Award recognizes individuals, businesses, or organizations that show exceptional dedication to preserving the visual and architectural character of their properties. Haeffner Wealth Advisors was selected for their thoughtful and thorough approach to maintaining the building’s historic integrity.

“This project reflects an outstanding commitment to preserving Washington’s architectural heritage,” said Bridgette Kelch, Director of the Washington Historic Preservation Commission. “We commend Haeffner Wealth Advisors for their investment in our community’s history and visual character.”

The annual award honors those who preserve the historic charm of their properties while contributing to the beauty and identity of Washington.
