Prop Transportation

Exciting news for the future of the City of Washington!

The passage of “Proposition Transportation”, the city’s Transportation Half-Cent Sales Tax, is a major win for the residents, and our city.  This sets the stage for more economic growth in our area.  One of the projects being funded is the continuation of four-lanes west on Highway 100 to Vossbrink Drive.

Not only will residents benefit, but current and future businesses will also see significant advantages.  The fourlane highway will provide faster connectivity, helping them become more competitive and reducing shipping costs.  Plus, employees can get home to their families faster and safer.

Because of the Transportation HalfCent Sales Tax, the widening of Highway 100 from Interstate 44 to High Street, originally planned for 2025, was completed in 2010. This improvement helped attract major retailers like Target, Kohl’s and Dick’s Sporting Goods and contributed to making Washington a better place to live, shop, and grow.

Washington voters chose once again to invest in the city's future.  Thank you!
