Watch the sky's tomorrow and be prepared. We are in an enhanced risk for severe weather. Onset time in our area is late morning through the afternoon.

𝗠𝗮𝘆 𝗜𝘀 𝗠𝗼𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗰𝘆𝗰𝗹𝗲 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵.
Missouri's preliminary 2023 statistics indicate there were 2,459 crashes involving motorcycles. In these crashes, 2,141 people were injured and 175 people were killed.
Remember.....
Drivers:
Carefully check oncoming traffic before turning, changing lanes or crossing roadways. Motorcycles are easy to miss. Driver's need to pay extra attention and be aware of their surroundings.
Signal your intentions to turn or change lanes.
Stay off your phones and drive sober.
Share the road.
Riders:
Don't assume you're visible. Stay out of blind spots and signal your intentions to turn or change lanes.
Don't weave in and out of traffic or drive faster than the speed limit allows.
Don't engage in stunt riding.
Wear proper safety gear. Even though your not legally required to wear a DOT approved helmet in Missouri (mandatory for anyone under 26 years old or operating on a learners permit), wear one anyway. You only have one noggin......
Ride sober & pay attention.
Share the road.
One last thing, don't blow grass onto the roadway when you cut grass. Aside from being illegal; its dangerous and it can cause a motorcycle to wreck since it can cause the tires to loose contact with the pavement.

Keeping our employees safe is important to the City, as they are our greatest assets. We would like to thank the Parks, Public Works, and Street Departments for their participation in Trench/Excavation Training this morning.
