Night Shift 08/10/24 A check the well being was requested in the area of E. 5th and Old Highway 100. Officers responded to the 800 block of Washington Corners for an alarm sounding. Officers responded to Mercy Hospital to assist security with a visitor. A subject who was in custody in the police department jail caused property damage to the jail cell he was in. A subject was arrested for domestic assault in the area of Bieker Rd and Valley Trailer Ct. Several suspicious persons calls, assist EMS and other calls for service on the fairgrounds.

Shift Summary Days 8-10-2024 Vehicle crash report in the 2000 Block of E. 9th. Trespassing in the 1100 Block of Washington Square Fraud in the area of Southwinds. Property damage in the area of Valley Trailer Court. A female was arrested on outstanding warrants during the above investigation. Stolen vehicle in the 1300 Block of Karen Lane Wildlife call in the area of 200 Grand Avenue Homeless activity in the 5800 Block of Highway 100. A male subject was arrested for protective custody in the 500 Block of E. 14th Street. Assist motorist in the area of Highway 100/E. 5th. A shoplifting report was taken in the 1700 Block of A Roy Drive. Check the well-being in the 900 Block of W. 9th. Peace disturbance in the 2900 Block of Graham Road. ARRESTS DO NOT IMPLY GUILT.

A subject was taken into custody for a mental health evaluation in the 1900 block of Bedford Center Dr. A subject was taken into custody on the fairgrounds for an outstanding warrant, assault and resisting arrest. A leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident and assault were investigated in the the 6700 block of Hwy 100. A verbal domestic was reported in the area of Southwinds Circle. A subject was taken into protective custody in the 300 block of Frank St. Officers responded to several calls for service on the fairgrounds. Several alarm calls, peace disturbances, fight calls and other calls for service were answered during the shift.

Derelict vehicle in the 6200 Block of Highway 100 Animal Complaint in the 300 Block of Burnside Private property vehicle crash in the 2600 block of E 5th. A derelict vehicle was towed from the area of 3rd/State Streets A male subject was arrested on outstanding warrants in the 100 Block of Madison Avenue. ARRESTS DO NOT IMPLY GUILT.

Night Shift 08/09/24 A subject was arrested on the fairgrounds for being in possession of alcohol as a minor. A check the well being was conducted on W. 10th St. A suspicious person was reported in the 900 block of Patients First Dr. A person was reported missing in the 2700 block of Rabbit Trail Dr. the subject was located. A fight was reported on the fairgrounds. A subject was arrested for being in possession of liquor by a minor. A peace disturbance was reported in the 600 block of Blue Jay Dr. A motor vehicle accident was reported in the area of 5th and Louis. A subject was involved in a single vehicle motor vehicle accident and was later arrested for DWI in the area of 5th and Boone. All subjects are innocent until proven guilty.

8/6/2024 Nightshift Summary 2 Assault reports taken that occurred at the fairgrounds. Motorist was stopped for speeding in the 2000 Block of East 5th and issued several citations. A scooter was stolen from the area of West 5th St. And Stafford St. Intoxicated male taken into protective custody after being contacted numerous times throughout the shift for causing disturbances. Trespassing complaint handled at Best Western Homeless subjects contacted near JC Penney’s and provided some resources. Several suspicious person calls handled Traffic enforcement activities. Building checks Officers finished up the 1st night of the fair.

08/07/2024 Dayshift summary Day 1 of the fair Male was arrested on active warrants during a disturbance investigation at the riverfront. Welfare check at Best Western, the male in question was fine. Female was arrested on active warrants during a disturbance investigation on East 14th Street. Alarm sounding on A Roy Drive, building checked to be secure and was turned over to management. Suspicious persons/vehicle checks based on citizen complaints in the area of JC Penny's and Meriwether Drive. Code violation complaints (tall grass/overgrown vegetation)

Due to the Fair, the normal trash routes for Thursday and Friday will be altered, and trash may be picked up earlier in the day than usual. Your trash will still be collected on your normally scheduled day, but please make sure to place trash at the curb the night before or by 5:30 a.m. so it is not missed.

Night Shift Summary 08/05/2024 Vehicle was stopped in the area of East 8th Street and Schaper Avenue for a traffic violation. Subject operating the vehicle was found to have a suspended driving privilege. Subject was arrested. Subject was contacted regarding an reported assault outside of our venue. Subject was found to have several outstanding warrants and was arrested. Alarm in the 600 block of International Avenue. Accidental. Subject was stopped in the area of East 14th Street and Highway 47. Subject was found to have outstanding warrants. Subject was arrested. Checked the well being of a subject on A. Roy Drive. They were fine but they were having vehicle trouble. Assisted EMS in the 300 block of Elm Street.

Great Decisions 2024 starts its 8-week session on Wednesday, August 7, at 1 p.m. This is a repeat of the winter program. Sessions are every Wednesday at 1 p.m. in August and September.

The library will close at 3 p.m. on Friday, August 9, for cleaning and will be closed all day Saturday, August 10. We will re-open with regular hours on Sunday, August 11, noon - 4 p.m.

The Phoenix Park Tennis Courts will be closed this Monday-Friday (August 5-9) for maintenance.
