When washing your car in the street or your driveway, an average of 120 gallons of soap and grease filled water goes down the storm drain and into our creeks and rivers. Using a bucket and dumping the dirty water in the sink will not only save on water usage but will help keep our water clean.

Thank you to our fabulous families for joining us on a beautiful morning at the Riverfront Park. Serengeti Steve entertained while he educated about snakes, alligators, spiders, scorpions, and other reptiles. (He may have picked on a Mom or two in the process.) We had a great time and hope you did too!

The Friends of the Library gifted us this beautiful Cover One Machine that helps us fix broken bindings. Heavy, more expensive books often break early, like this well-used Minecraft Book. We've saved over 50 books since we got this machine in June. Thank you to the Friends!

Today in #ParksandRecMonth we are focusing on the inclusivity within our parks system. One of our most popular accomplishments was the installation of the All Abilities Playground located in Hillermann Park. The playground opened in 2012 and has been our most popular playground ever since. It is designed to allow any cognitive or physical ability be able to use and enjoy the playground. Giving everyone the opportunity to play and enjoy the park is just one of the ways Washington Parks and Recreation is #WhereYouBelong.
