Hazards were removed from Highway A and Steutermann Road.
A suspicious person was checked on in the 300 block of Burnside Street.
A subject was arrested for DWI during a traffic stop in the 1400 block of East 5th Street.
Officers assisted another agency with an uncooperative subject in the 900 block of East 5th Street.

A suspicious person was reported in the 1200 block of E. 8th St.

Check the well being conducted in the 700 block of Locust St.
A suspicious vehicle was reported in the area of Dubois Ct.
The library is now a pickup location for Medication Safety Kits. Secure medications you store at home (especially opioid painkillers) in a locked container if possible. These kits are free - ask for a kit at the front desk. Kits are provided by Hope for Franklin County Coalition.
Be on the lookout for a postcard from Waste Connections. Return the postcard to select the Trash toter cart size that works for you! You may choose a 64-gallon or 96-gallon Trash cart.

A peace disturbance was reported in the 2200 block of Ashton Hills Court.
Fraudulent use of a credit device was investigated in the 1800 block of Bedford Center.
Suspicious activity was reported in the 1400 block of East 6th Street.
Trespassing was reported on Scenic Drive.
A suspicious vehicle was checked on Kingsland Drive.
A possible intoxicated subject was checked on in the 100 block of Dawn Drive.
An alarm sounding in the 3000 block of Phoenix Center Drive.
A subject was arrested for DWI in the 300 block of East 5th Street.
The water department has completed the new water line installation up to Cedar Street. The project is currently on hold and will resume on April 28th. During work, each block will be shut down to traffic each day and will reopen at the end of the workday.

Work will take place from development on E Fifth Street that will impact traffic on the Fifth Street bridge south of Old Highway 100. This work will begin Monday April 21st and end Friday April 25th. Work will take place between the hours of 7am - 4pm. Two-way traffic will be maintained with narrowed lanes for most of the time otherwise flaggers will be utilized to direct traffic.
Use caution and watch for workers.
Please utilize alternate routes if possible.
Art Club is experimenting with Urban Sketching in the upcoming months. This is perfect for beginners! Each meeting the class will experiment with different techniques and lessons. Art Club meets 2nd Wednesdays of each month @ 6pm @ the Library. Checkout what the Club drew during April's meeting.

Thursday was Borgia Give Back! day. A big Thank You to Borgia students for helping the library prepare for summer reading by organizing, cleaning, packing summer reading bags, and assembling the play bricks. (Sorry about the "Math Skills Required" for assembling the bricks. But your math teachers would approve.)

A female subject was arrested on an stealing investigation. She was booked and released.
Officers responded to the area of W. 10th St. and Jefferson for a report of harassment.
A suspicious person was reported in the area of Hwy 47 and Duncan.

April 13-19 is designated as National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week. As such, we would like to recognize and thank our partners in the Washington Communications Center.
The Communications Officer is the first person the public deals with when they call for help. In the chaos of life, they're a calm reassuring voice and the sender of help.
Between the thin red and blue lines, there is a golden line which represents those who serve their community as a Communications Officer. That gold line is the glue holding the red and blue lines together so we can do our jobs. Despite being the true first of the First Responder Family, they're rarely seen and sometimes overlooked.
To our friends in the Communications Center: You are so much more than a voice on the other end of the phone line and radio. We're thankful to have you and we appreciate everything you do.

Officer assisted the fire department with a fire alarm sounding at the Farmers Market.
A leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident was investigated in the area of Highway 47 and Washington Crossing.
An assault investigation was conducted in the area of W. 10 and Jefferson St. During the investigation a subject was taken into protective custody.

Dog running at large on Earth Crest Drive. Dog was later released to owner.
Alarm in Washington Corners. Accidental.
Peace disturbance reported in the 6000 block of Highway 100. Subject turned the music down for the night.
The City of Washington and Washington High School teamed up to bring stormwater awareness to the community.
17 high school students and several WHS and City staff members spent their Saturday morning painting these storm drains with messages that help remind us that what goes in the drain goes straight to our creeks and rivers. Keep in mind that this was a pilot program that went through several steps to get approval. The City asks that you refrain from painting your storm drain as these are a part of the City infrastructure. We will keep everyone posted for a future program to expand this vision.
