Last week WFD had opportunities to train "hot or cool". One group went to the YMCA to review water rescue skills. Cool! The other group went to the training tower to practice RIT (Rapid Intervention Teams) to work on skills for rescuing a downed firefighter. HOT! We don't have a photo of this one, but an accurate description would be eight large puddles of sweat. Always training!

WFD had a busy Saturday. We started with an early morning call at the fairgrounds. Afterwards, a group went to a rope-training exercise on the east end of our district. While picking up from that, we were dispatched to an entrapment rescue on the west end of town, followed by a dispatch to a structure fire in Krakow, about one minute apart. Our crews were able to "divide and conquer" to get both calls taken care of. We would like to thank Sturms Towing and Union Fire Dept for their prompt assistance. Photo courtesy of the Missourian.
