It wouldn't be Missouri if the weather weren't changing by the hour! Due to the forecasted low air and water temperatures, the City has decided not to open the Agnes Nolting Aquatic Complex this Memorial weekend as planned. We will re-evaluate on Tuesday, May 27, 2025. Be sure to check back on Tuesday for the latest updates. The splash pad will remain open and FREE to use until the pool opens. Thanks for your understanding! Warmer weather is hopefully coming soon.

May 23, 2025 • City of Washington • Residential Cart Delivery/Swap Project We completed our initial delivery of almost 7,000 carts on May 9, 2025. We have already completed about 400 cart swaps & additional cart deliveries. We currently have just under 200 work orders for cart swaps, additional cart deliveries and cart removals. We will continue to offer to exchange carts for each resident’s preferred size at no charge to the residents or to the City of Washington until December 31, 2025. We now offer 3 methods for the residents to communicate their needs: 1 – Call our Local Office at 573-678-2492 2 – Send a Text Message to 573-678-2492 3 – Send an Email to: washingtonmo@wasteconnections.com Please give us your Name, Address and Cart Size (96 Gal or 64 Gal) requested for Swap, Delivery, or Removal. Carts that residents wish to return to Waste Connections need to be placed in an accessible, curbside location prior to service on the resident’s regular collection day. Waste Connections will perform the requested swap, delivery, or removal during regular collection services.

Memorial Day Weekend Safety Reminder As we honor the brave members of the United States Armed Forces who made the ultimate sacrifice, let’s also take steps to keep each other safe this holiday weekend. 🚗 Buckle up – Seat belts save lives. 📵 Put the phone down – Avoid distractions and stay focused. 🍻 Don’t drink and drive – Always choose a sober driver. 🚤 Be safe on the water – Wear a life jacket and never boat under the influence. ⚠️ With an estimated 4% increase in drivers on the road, totaling nearly 40 million motorists, expect heavier traffic and plan accordingly. If plan on spending time on the water, you can also expect an increase in waterway traffic as well. The National Safety Council estimates 443 traffic fatalities nationwide this holiday weekend — let’s do our part to prevent them. ❤️ Keep safety first, act responsibly, and remember the sacrifices of our heroes.

Day Shift Summary 05/22/2025. Dog was located in the 2400 block of Rabbit Trail Drive. Dog was released to owners. Non-injury traffic crash on Highway 47 at Washington Crossing. Non-injury traffic crash in the 1200 block of Jefferson Street. Stealing reported on Phoenix Center Drive. Subject was stopped in the area of Washington Square. Subject was found to have outstanding warrants and was arrested. Dog was located running at large in the 900 block of East 3rd Street. Dog was released to owners.

Officer's arrested two subjects in the 900 block of E. 5th St. for resisting arrest during a traffic stop and active warrants and the other was arrested for charges involved in the resisting. Assisted EMS in the Washington Crossing shopping center. A motor vehicle accident occurred on Rabbit Trail Dr. A municipal code violation was reported in the 100 block of Sir Williams Ct. A municipal code violation was reported in the 1100 block of W. 9th St. A debit card was found in the area of 8th and Locust and returned to the owner. A suspicious person was checked on near Peace Lutheran Church. A wallet was found in the 800 block of Vossbrink and returned to the owner. A purse was found at the All Abilities Playground and returned to the owner. A suspicious vehicle was checked on in the area of Tiemann Dr. and North Park. A domestic assault was reported in the 500 block of E. 3rd St. A animal bite report was taken in the 1100 block of Horn St. A dog was running through the neighborhood in the 400 block of E. 7th St. and returned to the owner.
