A rain garden is a beautiful addition to your yard, it supports biodiversity, can have lower maintenance, and will improve water quality for everyone. https://tinyurl.com/raingardentoolbox #SWPPP #embracenative #washmo #waterwisewednesday

Keeping rainwater away from your foundation is important to protect your house from damage. However, diverting rainwater directly to a water source will have a negative impact on water quality. Using a downspout diverter or extension can send the excess water to a rain barrel, a rain garden, or an open area in your yard. Increasing the percolation of water can help filter pollutants from rooftops and other hard surfaces and will give our creeks and rivers a cleaner source of water.

Have you wondered why these tarps are on the Lakeview Park's Football Fields? No, we are not trying to kill the grass, we are trying to GROW grass! These are GROW tarps, and they help to keep the grass that was planted in the fall warmer and shielded over the winter, thus giving it a head start in the spring. Now that it is getting warm, the tarps will be removed this week. Look for (young) bright green grass where the tarps were located!

The coins were found! Thanks to all the kids and parents who attended our Leprechaun Hunt on Saturday, March 8. We hope you all had a great time. Happy St. Pat's Day!!
